With archival footage and interviews, the award-winning documentary The Stroll centers the perspective of trans sex workers in the history of Manhattan's Meatpacking District in the 1990-2000s who built a fiercely protective community in the face of widespread discrimination, police surveillance, violence, and gentrification.
In partnership, the American LGBTQ+ Museum and New-York Historical’s Center for Women’s History welcome you to a conversation between co-director Kristin Lovell and film interviewees Christy Brown, Egyptt LaBeija, Brenda Valentin, and Jeremiah Moss, moderated by producer Matt Wolf. Please join us after the program for a light reception with the panelists in celebration of the film's premiere on HBO and Max.
