Supporting Caregivers in the Arts: An industry event with Creative Scotland and PiPA

Join us at our online event (Zoom) where we aim to share more information about the work that Creative Scotland and PiPA (Parents and Carers in the Performing Arts) do to support people with caregiving responsibilities in Scottish arts, screen and creative industries. The event is free and open to all, but is likely to be of particular interest to those working in the performing arts.

The event is produced by Creative Scotland and co-programmed with PiPA, an organisation set up in 2015 to work collaboratively with performing arts organisations to develop resources, strategies and working practices that enable them to support the parents and carers in their workforce. 

At this event, PiPA will introduce their new pilot programme, ‘PiPA Foundations’. This pilot presents a unique opportunity for Scottish performing arts organisations to gain first access to a programme of resources, strategies and working practices that introduce family friendly working practices.

PiPA Foundations is an entry level programme designed to support organisations of all sizes, budgets, and resources to develop more inclusive workplaces, starting with the needs of parents and carers.

The event will feature:

• Welcome from Creative Scotland with Vanessa Boyd (Interdisciplinary Performance Officer)
• A presentation from Creative Scotland on the Radical Care Fund and 2022 recipients with Ashley Smith-Hammond (Creative Industries Officer)
• A presentation from Anna Ehnold-Danailov, Co-Founder and Joint CEO of PiPA, on their work to date and the launch of a new PiPA Foundations programme in Scotland
• A panel discussion with Creative Scotland and PiPA, joined by speakers Caroline Newall, Director of Artistic Development at National Theatre Scotland, Isabel Moura Mendes, Centre Director at Dance Base and Michelle Rolfe, Producer at Birds of Paradise Theatre
• Q&A
